MUSCAT – JABAL AL AKHDAR

Enjoying the breathtaking views of the green terraces, trek to the old village Wadi Bani Habib, visit the rose gardens during your hike to Al Aqur, Al Ain & Al Sheraijah villages. In Wadi Bani Habib we walk down winding stone steps into a narrow gorge filled with walnut and apricot trees and flowering shrubs. The greenery contrasts nicely with the brown bare rocks of the mountains and the sienna-colored ruins of two villages, made of stone in various stages of dereliction and clinging to the edges of steep sandstone cliffs.

• This is a hiking tour; starts from Muscat straight away to Jabal Al Akhdar with a short stop at Birkat Al Mawz. We will reach Jabal Al Akhdar and start our hike through the mountain villages and then we will go back to our vehicle and drive to Wadi Bani Habib and from there back to Muscat (The Rose Garden Walk takes 2-3 hrs.). The best time to see roses in Oman is April, where people start to harvest the roses.
